It is my humble honor to present this heart work to you.
For over 30 years, I have been writing devotionals, first for myself, then for friends, and now, by God’s grace, for you. What began as quiet moments between me and God has grown into something I feel called to share more broadly… not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who has experienced His love, again and again, in very real ways.
These devotions are written as simple stories, grounded in scripture. I am not here to preach to you. I am here to share, with honesty, my own experiences and the experiences of others, as I seek to make God real for you in your everyday life.
I know God is real, not because it was preached to me, told to me, or based on someone else’s experience. I know because I have experienced His love in my life, every single day. And the truth is… you do too.
The Bible gives us a beautiful roadmap, filled with stories and teachings from biblical days, but God’s Word is still alive and relevant today. The same God who revealed Himself to Moses in the Old Testament, and to Mary in the New, reveals Himself to each of us every day… in our greatest moments, our deepest sorrows, and even in our mistakes.
This book, this daily reminder, is simply a tool for you to return to a quiet space, again and again, to spend time with the God who loves you unconditionally and always… preparing you to meet whatever the day holds.
A Love Letter To My Child is written as a 40-day devotional and an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with faith, hope, love, peace, and joy. Each day offers a moment to breathe, to be still, and to remember who you are and whose you are.
This is not a book to rush through. It is a companion for your journey. A place to sit, to return, to be reminded that you are never alone and that your life is filled with purpose, right where you are.
My prayer is that as you move through these pages, you don’t just read the words… you experience Him.

Her work is shaped by a legacy of leadership modeled early in life by her parents, Louis and Marilyn, who taught leadership through relationship, service, and quiet conviction. That foundation continues to guide Lisa’s approach to leadership today, one that prioritizes integrity, resilience, and care for the whole person.
Through Merle & Lou, Lisa integrates spiritual reflection, transformational leadership principles, and lived experience to create spaces where leaders can pause, reconnect with purpose, and lead with clarity and compassion. Her writing and leadership work focus on developing leaders for today and tomorrow, at work, at home, and in the communities they serve.
